Rajeev Dubey '82 President (HR, After-Market & Corporate Services) & Member of the Group Management Board Mahindra & Mahindra Limited

Back

"Yale SOM was a deep and intense experience in viewing and understanding management issues — and life itself — through a multidisciplinary, holistic and interactive lens which emphasized teamwork. It taught me how to appreciate both fundamental and subtle forces at work in any situation, and developed in me the ability to ask discerning (and hopefully relevant!) questions without necessarily expecting any one 'correct' answer.

In the final analysis, what I took away from Yale SOM was not a ready-reckoner or tool-kit, but something much more valuable — a way of thinking — of identifying and acknowledging forces of conflict, factors of uncertainty, and the primal role of values and ethics in decision-making. My two years at Yale SOM gave me enormous self-confidence at an intellectual, emotional and spiritual level, and this in turn has created in me the space to listen with an open mind and an open heart (at least I try very hard to do so!) to widely differing expert views on the same subject, acknowledge the co-existence of polarities in any situation, and then proceed to create synergistic solutions through teamwork."
