Henry P.
Johnson '94
President & Co-CEO
Fiduciary Trust Company International

Back

"When I went to Yale SOM, I did so with something of a clean slate as to the opportunities I might pursue after graduation. While there, and in my summer associateship at J.P. Morgan, I discovered asset management and thereafter crafted my course selection around my growing interest. Yale's deep and broad curriculum allowed me to be very focused in my second year in investments, finance and analysis, which ultimately created the foundation of my education in this field."

Henry P. Johnson, president and co-chief executive officer, is responsible for the day-to-day management of Fiduciary Trust, together with James C. Goodfellow, co-chief executive officer. Mr. Johnson has a particular focus on the investment and wealth management capabilities of the firm, as well
as operations, finance and banking. He is a member of the
Board of Directors as well as the Management and Executive Committees and also oversees the firm’s Strategic Advisory Group. Additionally, he sits on the boards of Fiduciary
Trust's affiliates in Florida, California, Delaware, and
Washington, D.C.

Mr. Johnson joined Fiduciary Trust in 1994 and held various business development positions before becoming head of business development in 1999. Following Fiduciary Trust's acquisition by Franklin Templeton Investments, he assumed additional responsibility as executive vice president and U.S. head of Franklin Templeton Institutional. In 2003, he was named chief administrative officer of Fiduciary Trust and in 2005, he became the firm’s ninth president.

Mr. Johnson is a member of the Board of Trustees of Vassar College and of The Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies, as well as the Council of Fellows of The Pierpont Morgan Library. He earned a BA from Vassar College, an MBA from the Yale School of Management and has held prior roles at The Blackstone Group, J.P. Morgan & Co., and Sotheby's.
