Markus Moberg is the co-founder and owner of Veritas Prep, a test preparation company created in New Haven with classmate Chad Troutwine. The company moved its headquarters to California in 2003 and has grown to become the third largest GMAT prep company in the US, offering courses in dozens of cities in the US and several international locations. To conduct the classes, Veritas Prep employs MBA students and alumni from all the top business schools.
Prior to attending Yale SOM, Markus worked with Schlumberger, an international oil field service provider. During his time as a field engineer, Markus worked in South America, West Africa, the Faeroe Islands in the North Sea, and the Mediterranean. He has also traveled extensively on his own, hiking in the Himalayas, diving in New Zealand, and surfing in Indonesia. An avid photographer, Markus still pursues his passion for exploring the far reaches of the world.
Markus has a bachelor's degree from Cornell in economics and computer science and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. While at Yale SOM he focused on finance and pursued investment banking, working as a summer associate at Morgan Stanley between his first and second year. However, the award-winning business plan he co-wrote for Yale SOM’s Entrepreneurship class helped bring in start-up capital and confidence to venture out and found Veritas Prep.
