Career Management Workshops
The CDO offers a range of workshops focused on elements of the career search process, such as resume and cover letter writing, networking, off-campus searches, mock interviews, and negotiation.Career Fairs
"Meet the Firms" is a career fair sponsored by the CDO each September. Companies come to campus to talk with Yale SOM students to jump start their search for a summer internship or full-time employment.Corporate Presentations
Throughout the fall, many company representatives come to campus to provide an overview of their companies and to meet students. Presentations begin in September prior to the start of fall interviews (October). Sessions normally begin with a brief presentation by representatives of the firm and are followed by a question-and-answer period. Many companies also participate in "Career Immersion," an industry education program in which company representatives speak on panels focused on their industries.
On-Campus Interviews
Company representatives come to campus to interview for both summer internship and permanent positions. Most companies elect a "closed" interview schedule which means that they invite students to interview. In many cases, companies will also offer an "open" interview schedule, allowing students who were not initially invited for interviews to bid for an opportunity to be interviewed by the company. Interviews for second-year students begin in October and interviews for first-year students begin in mid January.Video- Interviews
Yale SOM provides video-interviewing services for organizations that are not able to interview on campus.
